Introduction to Magazine Publishing

This class will explore how a magazine isycreated. Students will learn how to start aymagazine by studying such elements as theyintended audience, the editorial product,ycontemporary magazine publishing trends,ypublication design, production methods,yphotography and artwork and content creation inythe form of feature writing. Upon completion ofythe course, students will be able to articulate ayworking knowledge of magazine staffing, structureyand duties and be able to help publish aystudent-produced magazine, including production,ydesign and content.
