Introduction to Journalism and Media

This introductory course acquaints students withythe history, nature and impact of media onyindividuals and society. Students whoysuccessfully complete this course will recognizeyand appreciate both historical and contemporaryyrelationships between media and political,yeconomic and social institutions, and theyprofessional practices common to principalyjournalism and media industries. Students willyalso be able to demonstrate critical mediayliteracy skills.
