An introduction to the fundamentals of digitalyphotography, including the operation of digitalycameras and related hardware, the uses of theyvarious digital media, and the basic functions ofyimage editing software. Additional topics willyinclude basic principles of photographicyaesthetics and composition, and the history ofyphotography. Course content will consist ofylectures and demonstrations, with an emphasis onyhands-on learning through the application ofydigital techniques to sample photographs and toythe student's own work. Upon satisfactoryycompletion of the course, the student will haveythe requisite knowledge to determine theyappropriate equipment, materials, and software toymeet their basic photographic requirements. Theystudent will know the basic functions andycapabilities of common digital devices andysoftware, and the skills required to utilize thoseyfunctions and capabilities.
