Internship

A supervised internship experience which consistsyof a minimum of 800 clock hours that includes: (a)ya minimum of 320 hours of direct service work withyclients; (b) a minimum of one hour per week ofyindividual supervision with the on-siteysupervisor; and (c) a minimum of 1 1/2 hours peryweek of group supervision via weekly internshipyclass meetings. Students have the option ofytaking the internship full-time or part-time asyfollows: a) full-time which is three credits peryterm and requires 40 hours per week for 20 weeksy(five months or over two terms), b) half-timeyrequires 20 hours per week for 40 weeks (10 monthsyor 4 1/2 terms), and c) one credit per term whichyrequires 15 hours per week for 53 weeks (13 monthsyor six terms). The internship experience enablesystudents to refine and further enhance theyknowledge and skills applied during theirypracticum. In addition, the internship providesyan opportunity for students to engage in all ofythe professional activities performed by ayregularly employed staff member at the internshipysite. Prerequisite: Admission to Level 3.yRepeatable for a maximum of 12 creditsy(Pass/Fail). Required core course.
