Indirect Costs

When determining the cost of any college, it's important to consider both direct costs (such as tuition) and indirect costs such as books, personal expenses and trips back home. Doane has estimated the most common indirect costs per year for you to consider:
 

  • BOOKS:  $900
    Costs are dependent upon what is required for each course.
     
  • TRANSPORTATION:  $1,500
    Cost for gas or additional travel costs home 
    (such as plane tickets or bus fare, if applicable).
     
  • PERSONAL COSTS:  $1,750
    Dependent upon individual needs.
     
  • ROOM & BOARD:  $620
    Even if you live at home , you'll still have
    additional expenses such as food.
     
  • LOAN FEES: Based on 1% of average Stafford amount
    and 4% of average PLUS amount.
     
  • PARKING FEES:  F R E E !
    Doane does not charge additional fees for campus parking.
