PARKING & SAFETY
With over 900 parking spots on campus, parking is plentiful. To ease traffic flow, attendants will direct all guests to enter one way off of 7th Street by Frees Hall. The ceremony will be held outdoors even if it is cold or lightly raining. Please dress accordingly. If the ceremony needs to be moved indoors due to extremely poor weather, such as a heavy rain, it would be in the George and Sally Haddix Recreation and Athletic Center. Each graduate is given four tickets to share with family if the ceremony has to be moved inside.
Common Grounds Coffeehouse is located in the basement of Perry Campus Center. They will be open to serve coffee, fruit smoothies, and water as well as pastry items. The Bookstore will also be open from 8:30 to 2:30 to purchase Doane College memorabilia.
Baccalaureate celebrates the achievements of the graduates in a spiritual setting. The Baccalaureate service continues to be a tradition at Doane College because of its historical relationship with the United Church of Christ. You are invited to participate in the services, but are certainly not required to attend.
Baccalaureate Services are scheduled the Saturday before graduation. The Baccalaureate service starts at 10:30 a.m. in Heckman Auditorium in the Communications Building. Students are asked to line up at 10:00 a.m. on the patio south of Perry Campus Center for the Baccalaureate procession. In case of rain, meet inside Tiger Inn. You will wear your cap and gown.
At 7:00 p.m. come to Heckman Auditorium in the Communication Building to hear the Doane College Choir and Band in their last performance of the year.
