In recent decades, international affairs have beenyincreasingly influenced by non-state actors whoseyactions and impact cross national boundaries. Thisyclass explores this contemporary trend towardyincreased global interconnectedness, examining theypolitical, cultural, and economic effects ofytransnational interactions. Major debates aboutythe global economy and international politicalyeconomy will receive particular attention. Uponycompletion, students will demonstrate anyunderstanding of globalization as a multifacetedyphenomenon, encompassing political globalization,ythe globalization of communications and culture,yand economic globalization.
