A study of the nature of musical intelligence, aptitude and sensitivity; basic rhythmic, pitch, and intervallic skills. This course also emphasizes the development of individual musical potential, as well as the understanding of music as an art form. Required of all freshmen planning a music or music education major or minor and of students who receive a substantial music special ability scholarship. This course should be taken in the fall of the freshman year.
