Education is one of the most important, and possibly the first, big investment of your life. Spend some time researching scholarships as they can be a big factor in financing your years at college.

Designed to encourage African-American, Hispanic and American Indian students to pursue undergraduate degrees in the chemical sciences and chemical technology.

Federal Pell Grant Maximum Award $5,550

Awarded to undergraduate students with exceptional financial need.

Apply for the FAFSA.

2 full-time semesters or 4 full-time terms per academic year

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) Maximum Award $2,500

Awarded to undergraduate students who have not earned a bachelor’s degree and demonstrate exceptional financial need (Pell Grant eligible). Funding is limited.

2 full-time semesters or 4 full-time terms per academic year

Doane College Legacy Grant $1,000

Awarded to admitted applicants who have had a sibling, parent, grandparent or great-grandparent graduate from Doane College.

Eligible students receive this award.

This grant is renewable for up to eight semesters.

Doane College Family Grant $500

Awarded to admitted applicants who have another family member enrolled simultaneously on the Crete campus. In the case of multiple family members, each member is eligible for the $500 award.

To be considered, all family members must file the FAFSA with the same primary family member's income information.

This grant is renewable for all as long as there is another family match currently enrolled fulltime. In the case of multiple family members, each member is eligible for the $500 award.

Out-of-State Visit Grant Up to $2,000

Awarded to admitted applicants outside the state of Nebraska who complete an official on-campus visit before March 1st of their senior year.

Eligible students that visit before March 1, 2013, will receive the full $2,000 grant and those that visit after March 1st will receive $1,000.

This grant is renewable for up to eight semesters.

Vocational Rehabilitation Varies. Dependent on funding.

Available to students with a significant employment disability. This award is need based and dependent on funding.

Applications are available from regional Vocational Rehabilitation offices.

Teacher Education Assistance for College Higher Education Grant (TEACH) Maximum Award: Undergraduate $16,000 ($4,000/yr); Graduate $8,000 ($4,000/yr)

Available to students who: 1) have the intent to be certified and teach (or are teaching) in a high-need field;  2) agree to teach a minimum of 4 years (within 8 years of completing your degree) a

Travel Scholarship $1,000

Available to all juniors and seniors.

You will select your trip from a listing of approved trips during the January or May interterm.

Available for up to $1,000.

The Travel Scholarship can be applied to one or two eligible trips.

The Travel Scholarship is optional, but highly encouraged.
