Financing Your Education

Education is one of the most important, and possibly the first, big investment of your life. Spend some time researching scholarships as they can be a big factor in financing your years at college. If you enrolled in classes at Doane College prior to Fall 2014, then please use the following document to determine your academic scholarship requirements. For students interested in a health care career in the Navy.

Navy Baccalaureate Degree Completion Program Up to $54,000

For qualified students who meet Navy requirements, provides funds to help complete their education.

Excellence Funding Varies. Included in the total financial aid package as required by federal regulations and college policies.

Excellence Funding is given to students who will make an immediate impact to a program as determined by the coach for an athletic program or a director of a fine arts program.

This scholarship will be renewed according to the requirements set forth by the director or head coach in the area of the scholarship.

Lincoln Community Foundation Varies. Up to 50 scholarships available yearly.

Each scholarship is unique and supports students of a variety of backgrounds.

Special Recognition Merit Awards Up to $28,000 ($7,000/yr for four years) Doane College recognizes student potential based on admittance and strives to make an education affordable. Award notice is provided at time of admittance.

Students who meet the nomination criteria should apply to Doane College.

The scholarship is renewed each year for four years.
American Chemical Society Scholars Program Information is available at chemistry.org website.

Designed to encourage African-American, Hispanic and American Indian students to pursue undergraduate degrees in the chemical sciences and chemical technology.

Federal Pell Grant Maximum Award $5,550

Awarded to undergraduate students with exceptional financial need.

2 full-time semesters or 4 full-time terms per academic year

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) Maximum Award $2,500

Awarded to undergraduate students who have not earned a bachelor’s degree and demonstrate exceptional financial need (Pell Grant eligible). Funding is limited.
