Financing Your Education

Education is one of the most important, and possibly the first, big investment of your life. Spend some time researching scholarships as they can be a big factor in financing your years at college.

Your academic scholarship amount and GPA maintenance requirements are tied to the semester you started at Doane.

Lower Republican Natural Resources District Scholarship

Applicants must have permanent residence in the Lower Republican NRD. This includes the towns of Cambridge, Alma, Franklin, Red Cloud, and Superior.

Applicants essay, grades, class ranking, extracurricular activities, and letters of recommendation will be considered. Stop by the Financial Aid office to pick up an application.

May be received for up to two years.

Curtis M. Elliott Memorial Scholarship

Applicants must be Nebraska residents, enrolled full-time as at least a second semester sophomore or junior at an accredited post-secondary institution located in the state of Nebraska.

Application and full details available in the Financial Aid Office.

Scholarship winners are only eligible one time during their college career.

ASCO Numatics Scholarship

Applicants must be enrolled full-time in an engineering discipline at an accredited U.S. educational institution and be entering their junior or senior year of college.

Applications must be submitted online

Winning participants are not eligible to apply for future ASCO scholarships

Pre-Veterinary Scholarship

Any applicant for the Pre-Veterinary Scholarships must meet the following qualifications:
a. Have completed three semesters of pre-veterinary education and pursuing completion

The Nebraska Veterinary Medical Association is offering a $500 Pre-Veterinary scholarship to qualified applicants.  The application is available on their

Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant Maximum Award $5,550

An undergraduate student whose parent or guardian was a member of the U.S. Armed Forces and died as a result of service performed in Iraq or Afghanistan after September 11, 2001.

Apply for the FAFSA.

2 full-time semesters or 4 full-time terms per academic year

Doane's Leadership Award

Admitted students are automatically eligible with a minimum 3.5 GPA.

To be considered, students should:

Students should complete the scholarship application and schedule an interview.

Renewable for up to eight semesters if the student maintains a 3.0 GPA and full-time enrollment status.

Additional class requirement during the student's second year.

Presidential Scholarship Up to $60,000 ($15,000/yr for four years) Admitted students are automatically eligible with a minimum 26 ACT and 3.65 GPA.

Students who meet the nomination criteria should apply to Doane University.

Renewable for up to eight semesters if the student maintains a 3.0 GPA and full-time enrollment status.
Board of Trustee's Scholarship Up to $52,000 ($13,000/yr for four years) Admitted students are automatically eligible with a minimum 23 ACT and 3.25 GPA.

Students who meet the nomination criteria should apply to Doane University.

Renewable for up to eight semesters if the student maintains good academic standing.
Van Hoy Scholarship Up to $48,000 ($12,000/yr for four years) Admitted students are automatically eligible with a minimum 20 ACT and 3.0 GPA.

Students who meet the nomination criteria should apply to Doane University.

Renewable for up to eight semesters if the student retains good academic standing.
