Financing Your Education

Education is one of the most important, and possibly the first, big investment of your life. Spend some time researching scholarships as they can be a big factor in financing your years at college. If you enrolled in classes at Doane College prior to Fall 2014, then please use the following document to determine your academic scholarship requirements. Aid Award Eligibility Process Renewability / Repayment
Presidential Scholarship Up to $56,000 ($14,000/yr for four years) Admitted students are automatically eligible with a minimum 27 ACT/1210 SAT and 3.65 GPA.

Students who meet the nomination criteria should apply to Doane College.

Renewable for up to eight semesters if the student maintains a 3.0 GPA and full-time enrollment status.
Private / Alternative Student Loans Varies (Up to Cost of Attendance)

We recommend that you and your family review all your funding options and then determine the best one/s for your situation.

You must renew each year with the lender of your choice.

Road to Success Scholarship

Students must be at least 18 years old, an American citizen and enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in the 2014 academic year.

To be considered, students must submit an essay to scholarships@nationaltransportllc.com by November 4, 2014 on one of the following topi

Rocky Mountain Alumni Scholarship $1,500

Must be a student from the Rocky Mountain area in Colorado.

Specific requirements can be found on the Rocky Mountain Alumni Chapter site.

This is a one-time $1,500 award scholarship.

Special Recognition Merit Awards Up to $28,000 ($7,000/yr for four years) Doane College recognizes student potential based on admittance and strives to make an education affordable. Award notice is provided at time of admittance.

Students who meet the nomination criteria should apply to Doane College.

The scholarship is renewed each year for four years.
Teacher Education Assistance for College Higher Education Grant (TEACH) Maximum Award: Undergraduate $16,000; Graduate $8,000

NOTE: You must contact the Financial Aid Office prior to applying for the TEACH Grant to determine if you qualify for the TEACH grant by your ACT percentile score or current Doane GPA.

Apply for the FAFSA, then complete TEACH Grant Counseling and Agreement to Serve (ATS)

2 full-time semesters or 4 full-time terms per academic year

Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program $5,000 up to $17,500

Loan forgiveness for individuals who teach five consecutive years and meet other criteria.

Travel Scholarship $1,000

Available to all juniors and seniors.

You will select your trip from a listing of approved trips during the May interterm. 

Available for up to $1,000.

The Travel Scholarship can be applied to one or two eligible trips.

The Travel Scholarship is optional, but highly encouraged.
