Financing Your Education

Education is one of the most important, and possibly the first, big investment of your life. Spend some time researching scholarships as they can be a big factor in financing your years at college. If you enrolled in classes at Doane College prior to Fall 2014, then please use the following document to determine your academic scholarship requirements. Air Force ROTC Scholarship Program Varies

Provides qualified students up to full tuition, book allowance and a monthly stipend.

Federal Direct PLUS (Parent) Loan Varies (Up to Cost of Attendance)

Parents who do not have adverse credit history may borrow for their dependent student. Applications are approved by the Federal Direct Loan Origination Center based on a credit check.

Apply for the FAFSA and complete Direct PLUS Loan Request and Master Promissory Note here

Begins after the loan is fully disbursed. Deferment options are available. Please contact the Financial Aid Office for further information.

Teacher Education Assistance for College Higher Education Grant (TEACH) Maximum Award: Undergraduate $16,000; Graduate $8,000

NOTE: You must contact the Financial Aid Office prior to applying for the TEACH Grant to determine if you qualify for the TEACH grant by your ACT percentile score or current Doane GPA.

Apply for the FAFSA, then complete TEACH Grant Counseling and Agreement to Serve (ATS)

2 full-time semesters or 4 full-time terms per academic year

Nebraska Opportunity Grant (NOG) Maximum Award $3,000

Nebraska resident who demonstrates high need. Limited availability.

Eligible recipient names are submitted to the State of Nebraska's Coordinating Commission of Post-Secondary Education pending approval.

2 full-time semesters or 4 full-time terms per academic year

Rocky Mountain Alumni Scholarship $1,500

Must be a student from the Rocky Mountain area in Colorado.

Specific requirements can be found on the Rocky Mountain Alumni Chapter site.

This is a one-time $1,500 award scholarship.

Dianne Grieser Memorial Scholarship

Must be a graduate of any Lincoln public high school interested in a career in the business field.  Must be attending an institution of higher learning in the state of Nebraska.

Not eligible for renewal.

Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program $5,000 up to $17,500

Loan forgiveness for individuals who teach five consecutive years and meet other criteria.
