Financing Your Education

Education is one of the most important, and possibly the first, big investment of your life. Spend some time researching scholarships as they can be a big factor in financing your years at college.

Your academic scholarship amount and GPA maintenance requirements are tied to the semester you started at Doane.

Doane University Legacy Grant $1,000

Awarded to admitted applicants who have a current sibling attending the Crete campus or who have had a sibling, parent, grandparent or great-grandparent graduate from Doane University.

Eligible students receive this award.

This grant is renewable for up to eight semesters.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) Maximum Award $2,500

Awarded to undergraduate students who have not earned a bachelor’s degree and demonstrate exceptional financial need (Pell Grant eligible). Funding is limited.

Federal Pell Grant

Awarded to undergraduate students with exceptional financial need.

Navy Baccalaureate Degree Completion Program Up to $54,000

For qualified students who meet Navy requirements, provides funds to help complete their education.

Junior College Graduate Award $11,500/yr for students starting during the 2015-16 academic year.

For transfer students graduating from a two-year college.

Merrill Scholarship $2,500/yr for students starting during the 2015-16 academic year.

For transfer students. 24+ hours of college credit and 3.0+ cumulative college GPA

Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program $5,000 up to $17,500

Loan forgiveness for individuals who teach five consecutive years and meet other criteria.
