Financing Your Education

Education is one of the most important, and possibly the first, big investment of your life. Spend some time researching scholarships as they can be a big factor in financing your years at college. If you enrolled in classes at Doane College prior to Fall 2014, then please use the following document to determine your academic scholarship requirements. ROTC Varies

Must be a member of the ROTC program.

Contact your military recruiter for an application to the ROTC program.

Awarded for one to four years. Includes tuition/fees, book allowance and a monthly stipend.

Doane College Legacy Grant $1,000

Awarded to admitted applicants who have a current sibling attending the Crete campus or who have had a sibling, parent, grandparent or great-grandparent graduate from Doane College.

Eligible students receive this award.

This grant is renewable for up to eight semesters.

Private / Alternative Student Loans Varies (Up to Cost of Attendance)

We recommend that you and your family review all your funding options and then determine the best one/s for your situation.

You must renew each year with the lender of your choice.

Athletic Award Varies. Funds are limited and awarded at the discretion of the coach.

To be eligible for any Doane Athletic Award, first-time students must meet two of the following three requirements based on final high-school transcripts:

Admitted students may be required to participate in a tryout.

This award is renewed each year at the discretion of the coach.

Performing Arts Varies. Funds are limited and awarded at the discretion of the activity director. Admitted applicants with special abilities in performing arts are eligible; must meet nomination criteria Admitted students may be required to participate in an audition / evaluation.

This award is renewed each year at the discretion of the director.

Students are expected to participate in the program for which the award is given.

Custer County Foundation Scholarships

Students must be former graduates of Custer County high schools.

Phil Heckman Scholarship

1. Applicant must be a current graduating senior of a public or private high school in Lincoln, Nebraska.
2. Applicant must demonstrate academic success in high school studies.
