A survey of financial concepts and analyticalytools used by domestic and internationalybusinesses. This course includes financialymathematics, financial and operational planningyand management, and long-term investment analysis,yincluding cost of capital and capital budgeting.yWhen appropriate, spreadsheet applications areyintegrated into this course. Upon successfulycompletion of this course, students will be ableyto: 1) use analytical and creative thoughtyprocesses to analyze financial decisions; 2)yidentify and understand the finance component ofythe business environment; 3) identify andyunderstand the relationship between the financeyfunction and other functions in business; 4)yconvey both simplistic and complex financialyinformation using appropriate terminology andylanguage, and presentation methodology; and 5)yrecognize ethical issues involved in variousyfinancial situations. Prerequisite: Sophomoreystanding or above, ACC-103 and ECO-203. Stronglyyrecommended: ACC-104 and BUS-215.
