In most economics courses, common economic resultsyare presented as theory. Econometrics allowsystudents to test those theories by usingyregression analysis on economic data. In thisycourse, students will learn basic econometricytechniques and methods, apply those techniquesyand methods to economic data, and interpret theynumerical results. Students successfullyycompleting this course will be able to: 1)yunderstand simple and multiple linear regressions,y2) test economic theory through the use ofyeconometric methods; 3) analyze economic data andyforecast change; and 4) effectively communicateyeconometric results utilizing appropriateypresentation methodology. Prerequisite: BUS-215yor SSI-217 or MTH-356. Offered alternate springyterms.
