Cultural Aspects of Health and Illness

This courses focuses on the health attitudes,ybeliefs, and practices of culturally diverseypopulations in the United States. Students willylearn the cultural, ethnic, sociological,yeconomic, and political factors that influenceybeliefs, values, and practices in relation toyhealth, illness, wellness management, and healthyseeking behaviors. Upon completion of the course,ystudents will have a heightened awareness of theyrange of cultural behaviors and the need toyunderstand people's actions from their ownycultural perspective in health and illness.
