Recently Completed Construction Projects

Smith Hall

Smith Hall Renovation - Smith Hall is the third residence hall to undergo renovations on the Crete campus in the last three years. Located on the north side of campus, Smith Hall was an all-male residence hall but became coed when it reopened in August. Doane worked with Performa Higher Education to create the renovation plans. Students were also instrumental in providing feedback during the design planning process.

Renovation of Simon Field - Constructed in 1929, Simon Field inside Memorial Stadium has long been the home of Tiger football. As a key component of the Legendary Coaches Campaign the field and complex underwent a renovation prior to being named Papik Field.  These improvements included the replacement of the artificial turf.   Additional updates will include renovations of various elements of stadium facilities.  Other improvements, such as fitness facilities, will greatly benefit the football program with their training.

The George and Sally Haddix Recreation and Athletic Center

The George and Sally Haddix Recreation and Athletic Center - Construction began in 2009 for the new recreation and athletic center located near the east side of the Lied Science and Mathematics Building.  During a naming ceremony on October 1, 2009, the center was unveiled as The George and Sally Haddix Recreation and Athletic Center.  A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Thursday, September 30, 2010 with the dedication of the building on October 1 at the Doane College Society Gala

Sheldon Hall Renovation

Sheldon Hall was the second residence hall to undergo renovations on the Crete campus. Located just east of Frees Hall, which was renovated last summer, Sheldon is a three-story women's-only residence hall. Doane worked with Performa Higher Education to create the renovation plans. Students were also instrumental in providing feedback during the design planning process.
