Chemistry Research I
An introduction to research techniques in chemistry, experimental design, literature searching methods, scientific writing, record keeping, and ethical perspectives. Students successfully completing the course will demonstrate an understanding of several scientific topics, investigate them thoroughly in the scientific literature and present their result in a written and oral setting. This report will include an original research proposal that will be pursued in Research II and III. Prerequisite: Chemistry major and junior standing; Chemistry 126 and Chemistry 205, or permission from instructor. Offered spring term.
