Designing functional ceramic forms, throwing onythe potter's wheel, glazing and firing are theyprimary focus in this ceramics course. Theystudent should be developing his or her personalyvoice in clay through throwing and altering forms.yThe student will also be setting up, researchingyand solving problems in concept, form, surface,yiconography, glaze, firing and self-expression inythree personal series pieces.yyExperimentation, research, and extensive ceramicyproduction are vital to artistic growth. Studentsyare required to develop skills at designing formyand at wheel throwing and decorating. A body ofywork reflecting a personal style and content willybe developed. Students should also become moreyaware of the historical and contemporary ceramicyscene.
