Tigers on Tour Road Trip
The Tigers on Tour (TOTs) took a road trip across the state to visit our Alumni in Denver, Colorado. We packed up the TOT van, put on our TOT tunes and headed out Saturday morning, bright and early. On our way, we stopped to highlight some of the interesting things along Interstate 80, like the Kearney Archway and York Balloon. Our seven-hour road trip flew by in the TOT van, and before we knew it, we were already in Colorado!
Once we arrived in Denver, we settled into our cozy hotel and took a little tiger snooze before preparing for our event that night. Kari Nott Williams '03 and Cory Williams '03 were the hosts of a Tigers on Tour dinner at Forest Room 5. We had a great time sitting and chatting about their time at Doane with our guests. Thanks for joining us for a fun evening!
Sunday evening, we attended the Rocky Mountain Alumni Chapter's Student Send-Off event at the home of John '80 & Leslie Higgins Allbery '80. We were able to visit with many alumni from the Denver area, as well as meet incoming students. One of our favorite parts about being a TOT is hearing all of the stories from Doane alumni, and we were able to sit down and chat with just about everyone. They have such great advice to offer! After the event, we joined the Allbery's for Jazz in the Park at Denver's City Park. Thank you to the Allberys for being fantastic hosts, to the RMAC for putting on a fantastic event and to all of our guests for joining us for a fun evening!
When we weren't hosting or visiting an event, the TOTs hit the town and took in the sights - and tastes - of Denver. One of our stops was the Denver Biscuit Company. (Look at that sandwich!) TOTs Kayleigh Erskine '15 and Nick Hamilton '15 were extra happy with their Club Biscuit. The TOTs also took a trip to the movies one evening, and even had time to swing by the Denver Zoo to visit the tigers.
We had a great TOT trip out to Denver to visit our alumni and new students of the area. We're looking forward to our next trip to continue our TOT adventures! Keep your eyes peeled for TOTs in your area, and check us out at our Tigers on Tour webpage!
