Beat Reporting

Students study the fundamentals of newsgathering,yinterviewing, cultivating sources, developingybeats and in-depth reporting. The student whoysuccessfully completes this course willydemonstrate a competency in covering an assignedytopic area. The student also will develop skillsyin public affairs reporting and be able toyarticulate the social responsibilities of ayreporter as well as the obstacles to communicatingyinformation to the public.
