Doane Shuts Out Sioux Falls

The Doane women's soccer team picked up their fourth win in five games (4-0-1) as they defeated the University of Sioux Falls, 4-0, in GPAC action on Saturday afternoon.  The win pushes the Tiger record to 8-4-1 overall and 4-2-1 in the GPAC.

Doane scored in the third minute of play when Sarah Medina found the back of the goal on a direct kick from Jordan Hedgecock.

Terianne Colangelo picked up the second goal for Doane off a corner kick by Samantha Exstrom that was played first by Katie Hubenka.

The Tigers took a 3-0 lead into halftime when Exstrom scored directly off a corner kick.

The Tiger's final goal came as Sarah Medina played a ball to the back side the goal and Kelsey Kovar tapped it in.

Alicia Exstrom finished with 11 saves for Doane while Beth Weiner collected three in her first action of the year in goal.  USF out-shot Doane, 30-23.

The Tigers will play host to Nebraska Wesleyan on October 15 at 5:00 PM.  The game can be heard on the Tiger Sports Network.
