The Tiger women's soccer team snapped a two-game skid with a 2-1 victory over Concordia University in GPAC action on Tuesday evening. The win improved the Tigers' record to 5-4 on the year. Samantha Exstrom (Lincoln, Neb.) scored the first goal of the game just seven minutes in for the Tigers when Jayne Wagner sent a pass her way and she beat the Bulldog goalie. The two teams went back-and-forth the remainder of the first half.
Concordia got on the board early in the second half as the Tiger defense was showing some signs of fatigue as the Bulldogs were pushing the attack. Molly Humlicek was able to get a shot by Alicia Exstrom (Lincoln, Neb.) to tie the game.
However, the Tiger offense came alive just three minutes later and Sarah Medina (Colorado Springs, Colo.) was able to the ball away from a Bulldog defender and place a shot on goal. Concordia keeper Ariel Harris made the save but it rolled away and Samantha Exstrom picked up the ball and scored the eventual game-winning goal.
Doane out-shot Concordia 27-11 in the contest. Alicia Exstrom collected four saves while Harris picked up 11 for the Bulldogs.
