Tigers Struggle in 2nd Half; 0-2 in GPAC

The women's soccer team dropped to 0-2 in GPAC play after a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Dordt College.  The loss dropped the Tigers to 4-4 on the year.

The Defenders scored just seven minutes into the game on a goal from Lindsay Landhuis.  Samantha Exstrom (So.; Lincoln, Neb.) answered a minute later for Doane with goal to tie the game at 1-1.

Mid-way through the second half, Dordt scored two goals for the victory.  Kelly Smies and Kate DuMez put the Defenders ahead for good.  DuMez had an assist on Smies go-ahead goal.

Dordt out-shot the Tigers 23-9 in the game.  Alicia Exstrom (Jr.; Lincoln, Neb.) collected 11 saves for the Tigers while Jenna Noteboom led Dordt with five saves.

The Tigers will return home for a game against Concordia University on September 23 at 5:00 PM.  The game can be heard on the Tiger Sports Network.
