Six turnovers were too much to over come as Doane fell to Hastings College 17-7 in GPAC football action on Saturday.  The Tigers dropped to 1-1 on the year and 0-1 in the GPAC.

The Tiger defense stood strong early on as Doane committed turnovers on their first two possessions of the game.  JR Artozqui was intercepted on the first play of the Tigers first drive and D'Artagnan Dai'Re had a fumble on a kickoff return following a Bronco field goal.

Hastings took field possession at an average of their own 41 yard line while Doane's possessions were starting around their 22.  The Broncos also held a time of possession advantage of five minutes.

The Tiger offense finished 253 total yards in the game, 116 on the ground.  Jaremy Puthoff netted 60 yards with Michael Vargas adding 48.

Artozqui finished with 137 yards passing on 13 completions.  He connected with Antony Ritton on 10 occasions, including a 38-yard pass for the lone touchdown.

Josh Warren led Doane with 12 tackles.  Pat Spangler finished 11 for the Tigers.  Doane totaled five tackles for loss but were unable to get to the Bronco quarterback for a sack.
