The Tiger men's soccer team played a strong first 60 minutes in the season opener but it was not enough as Robert Morris College rallied to defeat Doane, 2-1.
Doane struck first with a goal off the foot of Wes Erickson (Fr.; Norwalk, Iowa) in the 19th minute of play. Chris Hedgecock (Sr.; North Platte, Neb.) collected an assist on the goal.
The Tigers out-shot the Eagles in the game 12-5. However, in the second half, Robert Morris College put more pressure on the Tiger defense and a penalty kick from Arso Mitreski tied the game in the 60th minute of play. Fifteen minutes later, Sidrick Doubare picked up a loose ball in front of the net for the game winner.
