Athletic Award
Athletic Awards are given for varsity sports, which include: baseball, basketball, bowling, cheerleading, dance, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, track and field, volleyball, wrestling. Scholarships beyond general academic scholarships are offered based on a student's current ability and potential for growth.
Doane will award the scholarships in up to two programs. Applying for scholarships in more than one area does not guarantee additional scholarship dollars.
Students are expected to participate in the program for which the award is given.
To be eligible for any Doane Athletic Award, first-time students must meet two of the following three requirements based on final high-school transcripts:

Rank in the top half of your graduating class

Achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 on 4.0 scale

Achieve a minimum composite score of 18 on the ACT or 860 (combined Critical Reading and Math) on the SAT.
To be eligible for the full award, a student must meet the nomination criteria.
This award is renewed each year at the discretion of the coach.
Admitted students may be required to participate in a tryout.
