An advanced course in organizational communicationyand its application to real-life enterprises.yStudy will include examination of actual casesyinvolving media and personnel in public relationsyfirms, corporate communication departments,ygovernment agencies, political organizations orynon-profit environments. The student whoysuccessfully completes this course will understandythe nature of organizational culture, methods ofyorganizational socialization, communication needsyanalysis, and preparing and implementing programsyof organizational change. They should be able toycritically analyze organizational communicationyapproaches to social, managerial, environmental,yand other issues, and project possibleyramifications or outcomes of various communicationyapproaches in a variety of contexts. Prerequisite:ySpeech Communication 216.
