Doane College's proud history has been forged by the passion and steady commitment of its founders, alumni, friends, faculty and staff over many generations. Many believe in Doane College and its impact, as evidenced by their loyalty, volunteerism, and consistent financial support. These individuals nourish the fundamental spirit of Doane.
Fortifying that spirit to ensure a more effective, more vigorous Doane for the future will require monetary support of equal passion. For this reason, the Board of Trustees has established The Doane College Society to honor donors who demonstrate extraordinary financial commitment to the College, year after year. Leadership giving today will bring greater excellence to Doane in the decades ahead.
You are invited to become a member of The Doane College Society and to renew that affiliation each year.
How do I become a member?
Gifts of $1,000 or more during the college's fiscal year (July 1 to June 30) qualify you for annual membership. Gifts may be made in one payment or as multiple gifts to Doane College.
What about my spouse?
Both spouses are members of The Society with a joint gift of $1,000 or more within a fiscal year.
What types of gifts count toward membership?
Outright gifts (i.e., not deferred gifts or bequests) will qualify and will be applied toward the Doane Fund unless otherwise designated. Your payment can be made via check, credit card, or monthly or quarterly automatic withdrawal. Transfer of stock or other appreciated securities is welcome.
What if my employer will match my gift?
Your employer's matching gift will be credited toward the $1,000 required for your membership. Corporations, small businesses, organizations and foundations also may become Society members by virtue of their direct gifts and grants to Doane College.
Are there benefits for members?
Members of The Doane College Society will be recognized in the President's Report, receive special news updates, enjoy reserved seating at Doane cultural and athletic events, and be invited to an annual members-only celebration.
Does The Doane College Society recognize cumulative gifts?
The Society recognizes single-year giving. The previously-established Thomas Doane Society will continue to honor cumulative lifetime giving by individuals and organizations.
