Accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education
Members of Doane’s Community of Interest
FROM: Janice Hadfield, Dean, School of Graduate and Professional Studies
In the spring of 2010, Doane College launched its RN to BSN program, and our first class of students will graduate with the Bachelor of Science in Nursing on May 19, 2013. With this first graduating class, we have permission to apply for accreditation of our nursing program by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Accreditation Review
On February 11, 2013 a team of evaluators from CCNE will visit Doane for an accreditation review.
Prior to that review, we invite members of the community served by Doane’s RN to BSN program to submit third-party comments for input into the deliberations of the evaluation team. We believe that our community consists of:
- prospective students for the RN to BSN program
- current students in our program
- the faculty who deliver teaching/learning experiences
- the health care organizations served by our students and alumni
- community colleges in our area offering the ADN
- the communities served by our students and graduates
- alumni of the program
- regulatory/accreditation bodies and Doane College
Submit Your Comments
Written and signed third party comments will be accepted by CCNE until January 12, 2013. Please direct your comments to Cristina Walcott, Administrative Assistant at:
