Student Mailboxes & Keys

Students will receive mailbox numbers and keys at the Service Bureau during registration. Students are responsible for their mailbox keys and must have the key to obtain mail from their mailboxes. Mailboxes will be assigned to students their freshmen year and will remain the same all four years. No mail will be taken out from the back of the mailboxes at any time.

Lost mailbox keys need to be reported to the Service Bureau. Replacement keys take 48 hours to receive and cost $5. At the end of the school year, all mailbox keys need to be turned in to the Service Bureau. Keys not turned in will result in a $25 fee.

Letters to a student's college address should look like this:

Mail Service

First-class mail is delivered once each day (except Saturday, Sunday and holidays) to the Service Bureau, where the mail is sorted and placed in student mailboxes.

Outgoing mail should be placed in the mailbox located next to the bookstore or in the basket at the service bureau. The service bureau performs its mail service in the afternoon. Mail to be sent out should be in the service bureau by 2:30 p.m. to guarantee that day's postmark.

Campus mail to be distributed must have the student's name and box number and be placed in the campus mail basket in the service bureau. This mail is distributed in the morning after first-class mail and in the afternoons around 3:30 p.m. Any campus mail received after 3:30 p.m. will be distributed the next morning. Note that any student campus mail without a name and mailbox number will be returned to the sender.

Individual stamps can be purchased in the Service Bureau. The Service Bureau also weighs letters and packages to determine exact postage needs. No one is allowed in the mailroom without permission. Federal law protects the U.S. mail.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Service Bureau at 402.826.8285.
