How to Get to Your Netfiles Folder
Windows XP - ON-CAMPUS: You can map it to your personal computer...just right-click on My Computer, select "Map Network Drive...", then select any letter available, and type in: \\netfiles\students\your.username (see below)
Or, click on Start, select RUN, and type \\netfiles\students\your.username in the Open: field; then click OK. Of course, if you are in a lab and log onto the Crete domain, your network folder will automatically map to the Z: drive, and will show up when you open "My Computer".
OFF- or ON- CAMPUS via the WEB: (secured via WebDAV and GeoTrust SSL certificate) Open Internet Explorer. In the File menu select Open. Enter the secure (https) Internet address of your shared folder: https://netfiles.doane.edu/students/your.username and check Open as Web folder.
Select OK.
You will be prompted for your domain, username, and password. Remember to enter "crete\your.username" in the User name field, as shown:
Select OK.
You will now see the top level folder for your NetFiles shared folder.
You may now copy your files by selecting them and dragging them from your local folder to the remote folder and reverse. Unlike FTP, you can even edit them and save the changes while in your remote WebDAV folder!
Linux
Replace "http" with "WebDAV" in the URL. Thus use the URL :
webdav://netfiles.doane.edu/students/joe.college and enter a valid
user name and password when prompted. This should give you access to your NetFiles folder.
When connected to your Netfiles folder, uploading and downloading files is no different
from usual file management.

IP address of NetFiles, from on-campus, is: 192.168.0.34
IP address of NetFiles, from the Residence Halls, is: 10.1.0.33
