History

Founding Sisters: Eva, Wilma, Briana and Candice

In 1999, a group formerly known as the American Minority Student Alliance unified with Students-for-Change to develop a sense of community among the people of color on campus.  Headed by Candice Starks, Eva McDowell, and Briana Bridgeford, they provided a comfortable atmosphere and support for minority students upon the Doane College campus.  When switched to Students-for-Change, the purpose expanded to give opportunities for students to be involved in different cultural events.  Aiding in the planning of many multicultural events such as the Multicultural Fair, Students-for-Change affects the Doane campus more than ever before.  With the efforts shown by the founding members, and those that followed, the minority community of Doane College is now able to benifit from their efforts.  Thanks to those who help start this great organization.  Your commitment lives on today and will not be forgotten.
