Peer Judicial Board
The Peer Judicial Board (PJB) will consider cases of policy violation referred by the Student Leadership Office.
Membership is open to students with a minimum 2.5 GPA, good standing with the college, and no significant incident reports during their service or one year prior to service. Candidates must be approved by Student Congress, Residence Life staff, and the Vice President of Student Leadership to become members. Members have additional expectations including maintaining appropriate conduct and retaining knowledge of sections of the Student Handbook for use in PJB hearings.
Phi Alpha Theta - Honorary Society
A national honor society for junior and senior students who have distinguished themselves in history. Qualifications are at least four courses in history with a GPA of 3.01 or higher in all history courses, an average of 3.00 in two-thirds of the remainder of the courses, and a rank in the upper 35 percent of the class.
Phi Beta Lambda (PBL)
PBL is a national business association devoted to promoting interest in various fields ranging from accounting to computer programming.
Phi Eta Sigma - Honorary Society
A national honor society for freshmen men founded on the Doane campus in 1949. This honor society serves to foster the pursuit of academic excellence. Qualification for membership includes freshman standing with a minimum GPA of 3.5 in the first semester at Doane, with at least 14 graded credits; or a 3.5 average in the first year, with at least 28 graded credits. Credits earned in interterm and/or summer are not included.
Phi Sigma Tau - Sorority
The oldest sorority on the Doane campus. Members are proud of their traditions of unified sisterhood, close alumni ties, unique individuals, and many years of service in college activities and leadership. The daisy is the sorority flower. Their mascot is the monkey, and their colors are brown and white. Through social and money-raising activities and community service projects, Phi Sigs enjoy the creation of lasting friendships. Phi Sigma Tau is open to eligible Doane women based on invitation.
Pi Kappa Delta - Honorary Society
A national honor society for students involved in competitive speech. Membership is open to students with two semesters of experience in intercollegiate forensics competition.
Pi Lambda Theta - Honorary Society
The oldest national honor society in education. Its purpose is to recognize individuals of superior scholastic achievement and high potential for leadership. To qualify, a member must be pursuing a career in professional education and must have at least a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
P.R.I.D.E.
Dedicated to provide a safe atmosphere in which students can grow and explore their identities, as well as encourage a climate of acceptance of diversity throughout Doane College.
Psi Chi - Honorary Society
The national psychology honor society, founded in 1929 for the purpose of encouraging, stimulating, and maintaining excellence in scholarship and advancing the science of psychology. Membership is open to undergraduate men and women who are making the study of psychology one of their major interests and who meet the minimum qualifications: l) completion of eight semester hours of psychology, or six semester hours and registration for at least two additional semester hours of psychology; 2) registration for a major or minor in psychology, or for a program psychological in nature; 3) ranking not lower than the highest 35 percent of their class in general scholarship and demonstration of superior scholarship in psychology; 4) high standards of personal behavior; and 5) two-thirds affirmative vote of those present at a regular meeting of the chapter.
Psych/Soc Club
The Psych/Soc Club promotes interaction among students interested in the fields of psychology and sociology. Psych/Soc Club is open to any Doane student who is interested in the fields of psychology, sociology, and human services.
