Morningside College ended Doane's eight-game win streak with a 2-1 victory over the Tigers on Saturday afternoon in Sioux City. The loss was the first for the Tigers in GPAC play. Morningside jumped out front with two goals in the first half. Jud Conner scored twice for the Mustangs within a four minute span. M-side out-shot the Tigers 13-2 in the first half.
The Tigers closed the gap in the second half when Kyle Smith scored off an assists from Wes Erickson.
Chris Kavinsky finished with five saves in the game for Doane. Matt Mayfield and Daniel Whithorn combined for four saves in the game for Morningside.
