Doane's women's soccer team faced tough defense in the GPAC opener and fell to Midland Lutheran College 3-0. The loss dropped Doane's overall record to 4-3.
Kayla Smelker led the Warriors with two goals in the game.
Alicia Exstrom (Jr.; Lincoln, Neb.) posted 10 saves for the Tigers as MLC out-shot Doane 25-17. Beth Russell collected four saves for Midland Lutheran.

The Tigers will travel to Sioux Center, Iowa, to take on Dordt College on Saturday, September 20. Doane defeated the Defenders in overtime a year ago.
