The women's golf team got the 2008-09 GPAC Championship meet underway on Monday in Sioux City, Iowa, and the Tigers finished with a 422 on day one. Doane sits 22 shots behind 10th place Morningside and 93 shots behind front-runner Dakota Wesleyan who shot a team round of 329. Sioux Falls is in second place, 18 strokes back.
Shea Henderson (Sr.; Aurora, Neb.) is in 37th place after a round of 98 (49-49). McKenzie Roach (Fr.; Kearney, Neb.) is tied for 38th place after a round of 99 (50-49). Brittany Sampy (Fr.; Minden, Neb.) sits in 49th place after a round of 112 (56-56). Catherine McLey (Fr.; Syracuse, Neb.) shot a 113 (52-61) and is 50th overall. Megan Rotherham (Fr.; Benkelman, Neb.) rounded out the Tiger golfers with a 117 (54-63) and is currently in 53rd position.
The GPAC Championship will resume with round two of four on September 25 at Lockland Golf Course in Hastings, Neb.
