Math Students Coming to Campus for triMATHlon

Article Body

About 135 high-school students will arrive on campus Thursday, Sept. 25 for the 9th annual triMATHlon math contest.

The math contest consists of three stages. During the Extreme Team Challenge, an outdoor event, teams produce written solutions to problems involving Doane's campus. The Individual Written Test is a 30-question, multiple-choice exam. The Math Bowl pairs three-person teams in a quick-answer quiz bowl tournament.

Registration for the event is complete.  The high schools registered for the Division I competition are: Lincoln East, Lincoln Northeast, Lincoln Pius X, Lincoln Southeast, Lincoln Southwest,  Norris, Omaha Central and Waverly. The high schools registered for the Division II competition are:  Bertrand, Brownell-Talbot, Deshler, Falls City Public, Harvard, Osceola, Thayer Central and Weeping Water.

Although there are no more openings for schools, those interested in participating in the future can contact Peggy Hart at 402-826-8603 or peg.hart@doane.edu.
