The men's golf team got the 2008-09 GPAC Championship meets off to a solid start on Saturday in Mitchell, S.D. The Tigers shot a team round of 327 and trail front-runner Dakota Wesleyan by 38 strokes. Nebraska Wesleyan is in second place, 12 strokes back, and ahead of Doane by only 26 strokes. Marcus Anderson (Sr.; Axtell, Neb.) sits tied for 10th after a round of 75 (38-37). Mark Steskal (Sr.; Ewing, Neb.) is tied for 43rd with a round of 82 (40-42). Colby Enevoldsen (Potter, Neb.) sits in a tie for 46th after shooting an 84 (39-45). Bo Cribelli (Fr.; Cambridge, Neb.) is 50th after a round of 86 (43-43) and Will Juilfs (Fr.; Syracuse, Neb.) is tied for 51st after an 88 (45-43).
The GPAC Championship will resume with round two of four on September 18 at Wilderness Ridge Golf Course in Lincoln, Neb. Doane is the host for the second qualifying meet.
