Doane College is proud to announce that all 12 graduates - 100 percent - who applied to medical and allied health schools in 2008 have been accepted. Only about 46 percent of all applicants are admitted nationwide each year.
Graduates will be going on to study medicine, osteopathic medicine, in MD/Ph.D. programs, dental school, pharmacy school, physical therapy and veterinary medicine. Schools to which the students were accepted include the University of Nebraska Medical Center, University of Colorado, Creighton University, Kansas State and Iowa State.
Among all Doane graduates, over 98 percent of students start careers or are admitted to prestigious professional and graduate programs within 6 months after graduation. That's one of the highest placement rates in the nation.
In addition to medical and allied health schools, many more graduates are going on to study in other programs such as nursing, counseling, computer engineering, plant pathology and forensic science to name a few. About 96 percent of past graduates who have applied to law school have been accepted.
