Hastings College was able to hold off Doane in Crete on Friday afternoon for a 6-3 victory over the Tigers.
In doubles action, Cassie Steiner and Angela Frerking won at No. 2 over Amber Pierce and Stacy Fausset, 8-6. Morgan Dietrich and Jenna Monter fell 8-4 at No. 1 doubles while Kendra Bender and Jessica Whalen lost 8-3 at No. 3 doubles.
In singles action, Steiner and Frerking picked up victories. Steiner won 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-4) at No. 3 singles over Fausset. Frerking won 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (10-3) over Stephanie Larson in No. singles action. The next closest match was at No. 6 singles where Jenna Koster was knocked off by Hastings' Courtney LaChance 6-4, 2-6, 0-1 (4-10).
