'Sons of Maxwell' To Perform at Doane

Article Body
Sons of Maxwell, a northern Ontario duo of singing brothers, will perform Saturday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m. in Heckman Auditorium. The free concert is open to the public and is being brought to Doane by Arts Across Nebraska. In addition to the concert, the duo will spend time on campus with music students covering topics of interest.

Arts Across Nebraska brings Lied artists to communities of greater Nebraska for performances and extended residences. Programs are developed in partnership with community leaders, TierOne Bank Foundation, the Friends of Lied, the University of Nebraska's Cooperative Extension Service, and the artists. Mini-tours and community based projects extend the outreach of Lied artists to all areas of the state.

Sons of Maxwell brothers Don and Dave began singing together while attending university and began a full-time music career soon after graduation. The strength of the duo is built upon diversity. Dave writes songs that bring laughter and tears to the audience. The brothers (along with a talented back-up band) deliver Dave's powerful and thought-provoking lyrics in an interesting blend of musical styles best described as pop/folk. Ever present are their unique, brilliant vocal styles and harmonies for which they are well known.

The Sons of Maxwell have toured nationally and have released several well-received all-original albums and music videos.
