"This is a social space to pull faculty, staff, students and the community...A healthy, intellectual space."
Common Grounds is the college's new on-campus coffeehouse located in the lower level of Perry Campus Center.
Opaque glass panels give privacy to the sunken level coffee bar and gathering space.
Coffeehouse music greets those walking through. Funky lighting, furniture and artwork complete the transformation.

The coffeehouse offers a comfortable gathering space for the Doane community and area residents, along with a variety of food and drinks, including smoothies, pastries, energy drinks, and of course, coffee.
It has quickly become a space for students to linger, a spot to study, text message and meet classmates.
It's common to find staff meetings here, or see professors perusing lesson plans over cappuccinos. The space has also become another place for faculty and students to interact.
Common Grounds came to be through hard work and support from students and the Student Congress.
