Whitcomb Lee Conservatory, more commonly known as "the Con," was built in 1906 in the Prairie School style. This unique five-sided building, listed in the National Register of Historic Buildings, originally housed Lee Memorial Chapel and the music department. Over the years, wear and tear took its toll on the Con. It underwent a $3 million renovation in 2005 and now houses the theatre and forensics departments. It is used for college and area community events and performances. A $900,000 federal grant from the Department of Housing helped fund the renovation.
