Career Services

The Career Services Office assists students and alumni through all phases of their career development. Our goal is to give personalized supports to each student so you can take steps to accomplish your career goals.

The Career Services Office is open to all majors, graduate and undergraduate, and alumni. Appointments are strongly encouraged to ensure adequate time focused on your career needs.  To schedule an appointment contact a career adviser.

Services include:

Career Exploration  - Explore career options by examining your  interests and goals, using assessment tools and online resources.  Learn how to conduct Informational Interviews as a tool for learning more about the job market while expanding your network in your field of interest. 

Networking  - This is a powerful tool for the job seeker.  Learn how to use your network to your advantage throughout all aspects of the job search.

Job Search Strategies  - Receive one-on-one feedback and information on resumes, cover letters, job search strategies, networking, researching graduate schools, and interviewing.

Mock Interviews  - Staff will conduct a mock interview with you. This is a great opportunity to practice your interview skills and receive feedback on your verbal and nonverbal interview skills. 

Nebraska Interview Consortium (NIC)  - This is a convenient linkage between employers and graduating students from 11 of Nebraska's four-year colleges and universities. Come to the Career Services Office to pick up a registration packet.

Resume Referral  - A resume referral system is maintained through the MonsterTrak NIC. Registration packet materials are available in the Career Development Office.

Career Development Library  - Resources range from career planning and job search strategies to resume and cover letter information.  Materials must be viewed at the Career Services Office.  

Job and Internship Postings  - Access current job and internship information online at the link listed below.  In addition, there is an Internship bulletin board on third floor of the Lincoln campus building, and a Job Openings bulletin board on the first floor.   

Career Fairs  - Career Fairs will be posted on the Job Openings bulletin board on the first floor.
