Past Winners of the Just For Fun Event
Be a part of the fun. Winners thus far have included big names on campus like Lucas and now Nathan. And any day now, we will be announcing the next winner. So be sure to check back. We'll even tell you what other people submitted for answers, because we like to share.
April's Winner
After an online game of 'Would You Rather?', Doane's Office of Communications found out some interesting facts about Doane students.
Congratulations to Renae, our winner of the "Would you rather?" survey!
- Renae said she would rather eat a worm than live without facebook (very sociable of her)
- live with no cell phone than grow body hair for a year (good to know she cares about hygiene, especially since she's sociable)
- live without TV than live in a haunted house (doesn't like to be scared)
- would sing mmmbop in the cafeteria than give up her ipod (again, very sociable)
- would rather shave her eyebrows than give up her computer (you can always pencil them in)
- would rather live in the library for a year than have no car (no reason for not studying for that big science test now huh!)
- but apparently doesn't seem to mind the snow because she'd rather have snow than not use her itunes (the library has heat right!)
Total results show out of 38 students:
-21 students would rather eat a worm than live without Facebook...gross!
-20 students would rather let their body hair grow for a year than give up their cell phone...eww!
-21 students would rather spend the night alone in a haunted house than to live without tv...yikes!
-19 students, half of the entries, would rather sing Mmmbop in the cafeteria than give up their ipod...
-31 students would rather shave their eyebrows than give up their computer...hmmm
-31 students would rather live in the library for a year than to have no car...
-26 students would rather live without iTunes than have it snow year round...
March's Winner
Good golly, we had a plethora of submissions for the favorite YouTube videos. We left it up to the all knowing intern in our office to pick the official winner (who's name shall remain anonymous to protect his identity). So with 13 submissions for the top video the winner is 'Charlie Bit Me'.
Aimee was quick to submit being the first at exactly 10:11 a.m. However, the other 12 speedy gonzales received a consolation prize (because we don't like to see anyone cry).

February's Winner
We asked: What cartoon character are you most like and why? You responded. Then the hard part. They were all good so who should win? We thought about bringing in some professionals to help us select a winner, but since we don't have any professional cartoon characters, besides Dan VanVechten, we selected the winner through a random drawing.
The lucky student is: Nathan who submitted 'Freakazoid' as the cartoon character he's most like. He claims "When I get lots of sugar or caffeine I can go on really random outbursts and act just a little strange." We know EXACTLY what you mean.
