Scholarships are awarded to full-time students based on high school academic records and performance (ACT/SAT score). Students who transfer to Doane are generally awarded academic scholarships based on college performance.
These scholarships are not based on need. Students meeting the qualifications will receive the scholarships regardless of their family resources. In instances where a student's need is met with federal, state or other funds, any scholarships or grant awarded may be adjusted to meet federal/institutional guidelines.
Academic scholarships are renewable when the student maintains the required grade point average (GPA). Any student whose cumulative GPA falls below the required level will lose his/her original scholarship amount for the following year. However, he/she may be eligible for a lower level of academic scholarship.
All student scholarship eligibility is reviewed annually after the spring semester grades are final. Lost scholarships are reinstated annually (not at semester) to the original amount once the student's GPA is at the required maintenance level or above.
Doane College is not obligated to replace lost scholarship funds with other types of financial aid.
