Every aspect of the Doane experience is designed to inspire you to challenge yourself. So it’s only natural that Doane is one of the most advanced institutions in the country when it comes to incorporating travel opportunities into the curriculum. In addition to traveling across the region on internships, research and service projects, and cocurricular and athletic events, well over half of all Doane students travel in the U.S or abroad before they graduate. Unlike other institutions, Doane not only encourages students to travel and
study abroad, but offers them the money and the time they need to make it possible.
Doane offers every single student a one-of-a-kind travel scholarship that may be used in their junior or senior year. In addition, Doane’s academic calendar—structured into a four-month fall term before Christmas, a three-week interterm in January, and a four-month spring term ending in May—allows students to take full advantage of our extensive connections in different parts of the world such as Africa, Mexico, Australia, England, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, and China. While some of our students spend an entire year or a semester at partnering institutions abroad, most enjoy short-term, faculty-led trips during the interterm—where they embrace life-changing experiences and have the time of their lives.
