Welcome to the Economics Department!
The Economics Department at Doane College is committed to providing students with diverse learning opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom. There are several courses available that incorporate a combination of theory and application. The faculty encourage students to research outside the classroom and present their papers at local, regional, and national conferences. The small size of the department allows students to develop lasting relationships with their peers and faculty.
About the Economics Department
* Most introductory classes have an average of 25-30 students while many of the upper-level classes have around 10 students.
* Students are actively engaged in their educational experience. Many classes include case studies, simulations, discussion, papers, and projects.
* Additional opportunities outside the classroom include internships, research, and business clubs.
* A degree in economics lends itself to a wide variety of careers and provides an excellent foundation for graduate or professional school.
